Types of Membership
REALTORS®
A licensed Real Estate Agent wishing to join SBOR must be sponsored by a Broker. An agent cannot join SBOR unless their sponsoring Broker belongs to SBOR.
An agent wishing to join the SBOR must submit a completed REALTOR® new member application with the Brokers signature along with all applicable fees. Once application and all fees and dues are paid in full you will have active membership in the association.
New members must contact WRIST (www.wristinc.com) directly for MLS services.
Secondary Members
A Secondary membership is membership that a real estate agent holds with a board of REALTORS® in addition to their Primary association with another board. For those members OAR and NAR membership dues are paid through their Primary association.
An agent wishing to join the SBOR as a Secondary member must submit a completed REALTOR® Secondary member application with the Brokers signature along with all applicable fees. Once application and all fees and dues are paid in full you will have active membership in the association.
Change in Membership Status
If you are a member that has a change in their office location a new application with the updated information and a new Broker signature will be required.
An agent must contact WRIST directly for any changes in their status.
Membership Fees & Dues
REALTOR® Application Fee:
$50 one-time fee as long as Active REALTOR® status is maintained. This fee must be submitted with the application. This fee is waived for current REALTOR® members.
REALTOR® Dues:
2023 dues are $615, which includes National, State and Local REALTOR® Association dues. National, State and Local dues are prorated monthly. Dues are payable with the application fee. (Provisional membership means REALTOR® membership begins when application fee and dues are paid but is rescinded if membership obligations are not met.)
Orientation Course
Applicants are required to attend an Orientation course, which is offered quarterly at the SBOR office. The orientation course is mandatory for new members per the Bylaws. You must make every effort to attend the orientation as scheduled so as not to interrupt your membership status.
Reinstatement
If a former member has been inactive more than one year, current full year’s dues are payable at time of reinstatement. Attendance at the Orientation course along with a new member application with application fee are mandatory prior to reinstatement.
