Our Committees
As a member-driven organization, the Springfield Board of Realtors (SBOR) relies on volunteer committees to pursue our strategic objectives. Working on a committee can be both challenging and rewarding. Committee Members stay informed of developments in the real estate industry at the local, state, and national levels.
Program/Awards Committee
This committee is responsible for the arrangement and conduct of regular Membership Meetings, annual award program and special events at meetings such as the Christmas Party. And, to ensure the recognition of any REALTOR® who has shown excellence to the profession, education achievements, or community involvement.
Finance Committee
The finance committee shall meet quarterly, or as deemed necessary by the Treasurer and/or the Board of Directors, to review the finances of the Springfield Board of REALTORS®. The Finance Committee shall then submit a report to the Board of Directors and recommendations as needed. The Finance Committee shall submit a prepared yearly budget to the Board of Directors in October of each year.
Philanthropic Committee
The committee is to consider and decide, with the approval of the Board of Directors, projects within the community to support by funding and/or activities. Funding for contributions shall be raised by the endeavors of the Committee.
Legislative/RPAC Committee
To be knowledgeable on the Board’s focal point for legislation on local, state and national levels, and of the impact such may have on the real estate industry; to establish a working relationship with elected officials. RPAC is an important and potent legislative tool, available to assure that elected officials carefully consider REALTOR® positions on legislative matters. This committee raises funds for the local, state and national RPAC to ensure legislators are elected who will enhance the industry, or to educate on issues of importance to the industry.
Affiliate Committee
The Affiliate Committee unites Affiliate members for the purpose of creating mutually beneficial interaction with the REALTOR® members of SBOR. Further, the committee assists all SBOR committees by acting as a resource for sponsor funds and identifies the need for Affiliate member participation.
